The brief

Three systemsfor one festival

The Syrian Village Festival needed more than a website. We built its official site, a system that sells 141 booths through a live map, and a POS system that runs the accounts of six investors. Three operational systems, built and deployed in the 17 days before opening.

One site for the publicand the investors

The official site was built in Arabic and English to bring together the festival information, its seven stations, the site plan, the sponsorship packages and the booth booking. The aim was one reference that a visitor or an investor could come back to before the festival and during it.

Built for the phonefrom the start

Most visits to the festival site come from phones, in an environment where the network is not always stable. So the interface was built for the phone first: less weight to load, and fast access to the stations, the site plan and the essential information.

Booth sales system

141 boothson one map

We turned the festival site plan into an interactive sales map. Every booth shows its current state — available or sold — and the moment a sale is recorded the state updates for the whole team. Everyone works from the same sales data instead of separate spreadsheets and notebooks.

The same map is what the public sees on the website and what the team uses internally to manage the booths.

Instead of asking each sellerabout the last booth sold, the status of 141 boothsis now visible to the team on one screen.

And at the end of the day the accounts move into that same system, instead of being collected from separate notebooks.

POS system

Six investor accountsinside one system

The system runs the sales of six investors on different percentages. The invoice is recorded at the moment of sale, the commission is calculated on the server against the agreed percentage, and each investor sees their own data inside a separate account with defined permissions.

A recorded invoice cannot be edited once approved, and the daily working cycle closes inside the system.

How is the invoice saved when the internet drops?

The POS system was designed to work locally first. The cashier does not have to wait for the network to complete a sale or print an invoice.

POS

Records the order, saves the invoice locally and prints it straight away.

Sync outbox

The invoice waits under a unique ID until syncing becomes possible.

Sync

The system retries the sync periodically and as soon as the connection returns, without creating a duplicate invoice.

Owner dashboard

The data reaches the server and the investor's share is calculated against the agreed percentage.
